Affordable Housing and Tax Credit Developments NationallyThe Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition (AHTCC) Releases Rebuttal to Senator Tom Coburn’s Proposal

July 22, 2011by George Danneman

Yesterday, the Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition (AHTCC) released a rebuttal to Senator Tom Coburn’s (R-Okla.) “Back in Black: A Deficit Reduction Plan” to cut federal tax expenditures by $1 trillion.  Their reply states that repealing the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) would deprive millions of low-income families a place to live as well as eliminate thousands of jobs nationwide.  The Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition (AHTCC) also believes that the proposal to eliminate the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) was based on inaccurate information.

The Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition (AHTCC) invites affordable housing advocates and  the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) supporters to sign on to the rebuttal document by contacting Executive Director Victoria Spielman at victoria.spielman@taxcreditcoalition.org by Wednesday, July 27.
