I missed the October Delaware Council on Housing Meeting because I was in meetings. The minutes are here COH Minutes October 2009. According to the minutes, Delaware Council on Housing member Bill Pearson, who served on Governor Jack Markell’s Transition Committee with me, resigned to accept another gubernatorial appointment.
Council was briefed on the Delaware’s affordable housing Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Forum, which I previously posted about. During the Delaware Council on Housing meeting the following points were highlighted:
– New set-asides
– New construction rehab standards
– Mandatory sprinklers for all multi-family unit sites
– Construction bidding
– Extra points for additional Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) units
– Point deduction for nonperformance
– Developer fee minimum
On December 3, 2009, the Delaware State Housing Authority (DSHA) staff will present a follow-up Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) forum that will include a response to comments received and some revisions to the prior proposed Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) Qualified Allocation Plan (QAP).
