Jerry Jones announced his retirement from the Delaware State Housing Authority (DSHA) after 23 years of service to the Delaware State Housing Authority (DSHA) and the affordable housing community in Delaware.
I had the pleasure of working closely with Jerry when I represented the Delaware State Housing Authority (DSHA). Jerry taught me the ins and outs of closing affordable housing deals in Delaware.
His institutional knowledge of the affordable housing communities in Delaware is vast and in an announcement by the Delaware State Housing Authority (DSHA), Tim McLaughlin, Deputy Director, stated “[t]he agency will miss Jerry’s dedication in helping to develop and preserve affordable housing in the State of Delaware, his unwavering commitment to the agency and staff, his professionalism and stewardship.” Mr. McLaughlin went on to state “[w]e cannot, however, begrudge him the opportunity to relax and spend more time with his family, in particular his two grandchildren.” Watching my parents, I have seen that being a grandparent is an awesome opportunity.
During his travels and while spending time with his family, I am certain he will have many opportunities to drive by Delaware affordable housing communities he participated in and feel a continuing sense of accomplishment.
