On March 10, 2011, House Ways and Means Committee Democrats introduced H.R. 992, called the Building American Jobs Act of 2011, to create jobs through increased investment in infrastructure. Building American Jobs Act of 2011 includes a Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) exchange program provision that would extend the ability of states to receive a portion of their LIHTC allocation as a direct payment through 2011.
