The House Financial Services Committee will hold a hearing on May 31, 2011 to examine the allegations of mismanagement in the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) HOME Investment Partnership Program.
According to the House Financial Services Committee press prelease, Chairman Spencer Bachus (R-Ala.) stated that “[t]hese published reports of waste, fraud and abuse are disturbing to say the least….It appears hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars have been squandered. As the Committee with jurisdiction over HUD, this hearing will help us get to the bottom of what is happening and what needs to be done to fix it.”
